Our Story

Ryan Kuzyk started Lava Dog Construction in 2018, after years of flipping houses with his dad in Ohio. Our company name stems from Ryan’s time spent in the United States Marine Corps. Ryan served from 2004 - 2008 as a Mortarman with First Battalion Third Marines. His unit, stationed out of Hawaii, was known as the “Lava Dogs”, a nod to the better known term referring to Marines, “Devil Dogs”. After two combat tours (Afghanistan 06 , Iraq 07), Ryan left the Marines, trying to find where he fit in the world. This led him to Florida where he met the love of his life, and co-owner, Lauren. Lauren, a Colorado native and emergency veterinarian, convinced Ryan that Northern Colorado was the place to be, so in August 2021, he joined her in Fort Collins. Ryan has found a happy home here, and he hopes to help his clients feel just as comfortable in their homes!

Ryan and Lauren live in Fort Collins with their two dogs (Lava and Steve) and six cats! (Turd, Paisley, Beeker, Kevin, Fred and George)
